What Reward Pods give you

Reward Pods turn your progress during a GRAVHOUNDS expedition into equipment and upgrade choices. The opening pod provides your main weapon selection, while later pods offer upgrades that shape the run. In the October demo, the Mod Deck Builder also limits the pool from which pod Mods can be drawn.

That makes two decisions important: what you unlock and select before an expedition, and what you choose from the offers that actually arrive during it.

Call in a pod and choose its reward

The narrated tutorial has COSMO authorize a pod, ask the player to call it in and then direct them to open it and choose a main weapon. Game Advisor's demo commentary connects later pods to gaining enough experience for a level-up and describes selecting from upgrade cards.

Use the availability shown during your run rather than expecting a reward at an invented fixed interval. The developer explains that fighting, building, gathering and contributing to the job feed the reward loop, but the developer does not supply a complete experience formula.

Player experience in Gohjoe's run also demonstrates that the landing pod can harm the player. Give the drop room to land and approach after it arrives; do not stand under it simply because it contains a reward.

Opening weapons and later Mod offers

The October 7 update changes the first pod to offer all weapons you have unlocked. Selecting one gives you the expedition's main weapon; an old recording with fewer options does not override that later developer rule.

For Mods, the updated builder lets you choose a deck of 10 common Mods and up to two Showstoppers. Reward Pods draw Mods from that deck. The system narrows what can appear, but it does not promise a particular next card or remove the need to adapt to the choices on offer.

The official GRAVHOUNDS demo devlog covers both the starting-weapon change and deck rules.

Make each choice address a real problem

The recorded demo offers include damage, firing, ammunition and mobility improvements. Their usefulness depends on what your expedition needs. A choice that helps a weapon's handling or your movement between defenses can solve a different problem from simply increasing damage.

Read the actual effect before choosing. A narrated example is useful evidence that an effect appeared in that build; it is not a complete current reward catalog or a guarantee that your next pod has the same options.

Also keep bugs separate from intended behavior. A September 25 Steam player report describes crashes when interacting with a third pod in one Aegiron playtest mission. That report does not establish that every third pod crashes, and the obtained thread supplies no confirmed general fix.

FAQ

Does the first pod choose my main weapon?

It presents your opening weapon choice. The October demo update says all unlocked weapons are offered in that initial pod.

Can a Reward Pod damage me when it lands?

Gohjoe's player experience demonstrates a lethal landing impact. Give the drop space rather than waiting directly beneath it.

Does the Mod Deck guarantee a particular next upgrade?

No guaranteed sequence or probability is stated. The selected deck defines the possible Mod draws.

Is every third pod affected by the old Aegiron crash report?

That is not established. The source is a specific September playtest report, not a universal rule or a verified fix for the October demo.
